TGIF peeps! Two weeks down into the school year, more than I want to count to go. If you have counted, don't tell me. I know it will be a bit depressing.
What are y'all up to this weekend? Traveling somewhere fun? Watching football until your face hurts? Hitting the lake? Whatever you are up to, I hope it is joyful and restful.
I'll be heading to Lousiana to spend some time with my sister-in-law's family. Good people, good food, good times will be had by all.
This week, I've got a few things that honor the rapidly dwindling days of summer. I won't be disappointed to say peace-out to summer. I absolutely love fall. It's my favie of all the seasons. I may or may not have started dabbling in some pumpkin-spice flavored things. I just can't help myself. Sorry not sorry.
1. Ozark Trails Tumbler
As a slamming back-to-school gift, our UNBELIEVABLY STELLAR PTA bought the entire staff 30-ounce stainless-steel tumblers. I didn’t understand the elation being express by my fellow staffers until I tried it out myself. This bad boy is awesome. When I leave for work at 7:15, I fill it with ice at my house. I continue to add water to the ice throughout the day, and I usually have ice still in it until about 2:00. Cold or hot, these suckers get the job done. Plus, they’re BPA free.
2. Fleur de Sel
What the what, you may be asking yourself? Fleur de sel, or flower of salt in fancy pants, is the thin layer of salt that corms on top of seawater as it evaporates. Can you taste a difference between this and the normal stuff? Woah ya. The time I get the most glee from mine is with sweets. I’ll sprinkle it on brownies, puddings, ice cream, and almost anything else sweet to elevate it to something you would pay $12 for at a hoity toity place in Dallas. Instead, you can just pay that same price for an entire container of this magical seasoning.
3. Football Season
IT’S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE, I mean Texas…sorry, old habit…Whether it’s the buzz of high school football or the pure passion of college football, I love me some football season. Since my BFF Peyton retired at the end of last season, I’m not as pumped about pro. Nonetheless, I love the energy, the camaraderie, and, of course, the snacks (not so much at the stadiums, but at people’s houses). I’ll be sharing PLENTY of football-friendly since it will be on nonstop at our house for the next five months.
4. Organic Peaches
Shut the front door, these are so DANG good. Sliced up on a salad with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto, or just biting right in with the juice running down your arm, these have been rocking my world. I’ve been finding organic ones at HEB, and I do recommend going organic on peaches since they are on the Dirty Dozen list, meaning have some of the highest pesticide loads out of all produce out there.
5. Workout Jams

Have a marvelous long weekend, y'all! Take care, be well!
