Hey hey you beautiful human, you! I hope you are having a fabulous week. If you're not, at least you're half-way through it...I'm trying to be positive here. As you start menu planning or at least begin to entertain the idea of grocery shopping, I hope these goodies may inspire you. So last weekend, Will and I returned from vacation Saturday night, forcing me to step foot into a grocery store on Sunday. Gross. It's the worst. BUT I was up early since I'm adjusting from Eastern Time and went to Walmart at 8:00 a.m...it was like zen grocery shopping. Peaceful, quiet, calm. It was practically like a yoga class...alright that may be a stretch. Nonetheless, I highly recommend early morning Walmart excursions if you can swing them. Here's what I found this week, y'all...
1. Fishpeople Wild Tuna Fillets
WHAT: Frozen Wild Albacore Tuna
WHERE: Frozen seafood freezers near beef
WHY: Wild caught in America, sustainable, crazy high protein (40 g) for just 180 calories, 90% of your selenium needs (reproductive, immune, and metabolism health).
2. Justin's Nut Butter Single Packs
WHAT: Individually portioned honey almond butter and chocolate hazelnut butters
WHERE: Peanut butter and jelly aisle
WHY: Portion controlled, portable (TSA-friendly), good source of protein and fiber, clean ingredients, YUMMY
3. Mango Spears
WHAT: Pre-cut mango slices
WHERE: Refrigerated produce section near juices
WHY: Successfully cutting a mango is a challenge, convenient source of Vitamin A, C, B-6, and fiber.
4. Heinz BBQ Sauce
WHAT: Premade BBQ Sauce for every palate (vinegar, spicy, sweet, smoky...I like the Kansas City one)
WHERE: Condiment Aisle
WHY: Convienent, no high fructose, no inflammatory vegetable oils, no franken-chemicals
5. Made in Nature Kale Chips
WHAT: Veggielicious snack in three flavors- Sriracha Chili, Rosemary Truffle (my fav), & Bedda than Chedda
WHERE: Nuts and dried fruit section near bakery area (that's some irony right there)
WHY: Paleo (gluten and dairy free), great source of fiber plus Vitamin A and C
