Happy hump day my little love nuggets!
You’re halfway through your week! And you’re just a few days away from the first day of fall! And you’ve made it through the toughest part of the day- waking up and getting out of bed!
Way to go.
I think you’ve earned a handful of paleo-friendly goodies that are just dying for you to come find them at your nearest Wal-Mart. AND, like I did last week, I’m going to be sharing a recipe featuring one of these said goodies at the end of the week.
So great, right?
Sorry it took me over a year to realize how helpful that would be for y’all…better late than never, huh?
I’m going to go ahead and get right to it, friends. I have MUCH to do in preparation for PUMPKINPALOOZA 2017 that will be kicking off next Tuesday, though the first day of fall is technically Friday.
In the meantime, enjoy all the watermelon and okra and figs and tomatoes you can before they’re out of season and are being imported from mysterious, faraway lands like Mexico…and Australia….and California.
And, as always, if you see or buy any of my #paleowalmart finds this week or weekend, snag a pic and tag me on Facebook or Instagram. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when y’all do that. Makes my lil paleo heart just pitter patter with glee.
1. Simply Asia Thai Red Curry Paste
WHAT: Flavorful blend of lemongrass, garlic, ginger, and other Asian yummies all in one power packed jar
WHERE: Asian foods section
WHY: A naturally gluten-free, low calorie Asian condiment can be hard to come by, but this little jar is loaded with flavor bombs that can be hard to track down in ordinary grocery stores.
2. Witch Please Mug
WHAT: Sassy, over-sized Halloween mug
WHERE: Seasonal aisle near Halloween costumes and decor
WHY: Two cups of coffee in one mug+a saying that has me cracking a smile first thing in the morning=a win for me.
3. Made in Nature Figgy Pops Nutter and Jelly
WHAT: Organic Fruit and Nut Snacks
WHERE: Dried fruit and more natural snack kiosk between produce and bakery
WHY: Organic, non-GMO, and no added junk, these natural snack bites are loaded with tons of dried fruit and nuts. This flavor is slightly reminiscent of a PB&J with a hint of cinnamon. These would be great in a lunchbox, backpack, gym bag, or purse for a quick energy burst.
4. Yes to Tomatoes Charcoal Mask
WHAT: Charcoal mud mask for acne-prone skin
WHERE: End cap near make-up and skin products
WHY: $2.50 for an at-home facial=good deal to me. While the package says its single use, I was able to get two uses out of it. I love how it made my skin feel fresh and smoother without over drying or tightening like other masks.
5. Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer
WHAT: Natural tinted lip balm
WHERE: End of make-up aisle with other more natural lip products
WHY: With most make-up being loaded with scary chemicals and dyes and stuff you really shouldn't be putting on the largest organ of your body, I appreciate a cleaner lip product. It provides a light pink-red hue, subtle shimmer, slight fruity scent/taste, and it's under $4.
Alrighty my puddin' pops, hopefully there's something in this round-up that strikes your fancy. If you hit up the Wal-Mart or other grocery store this weekend and see something I'd dig, snag a pic and tag me on Facebook or Instagram. You can use the # #paleowalmart or #healthyhappytexan . I LOVE LOVE LOVE when y’all do that. Makes my lil paleo heart just pitter patter with glee.
