HAPPY HUMP DAY, FRIENDS!!!
How goes it? Hopefully, life is just dandy, and summer is rollin’ along swimmingly. Speaking of swimming, my little family is goin’ plenty of that here in South Carolina. From the Atlantic to the pool, we’re letting our little buddy dabble in aquatic adventures, and it’s pretty much hilarious and adorable.
While I’m not going to Wal-Mart while at the beach (YEAY PUBLIX), I did make sure to scout out a few Paleo finds for y’all before I left town to keep y’all in the healthy Wal-Mart loop.
Let’s get right to the goods today, shall we? I’ve got a household of 20+ family members ages 3 months to 90 years to savor, so I’m going to get on that.
1. Rocky Road Quest Bars
WHAT: Chocolaty, nutty, marshmallowy protein bars
WHERE: Protein bar section near the vitamins
WHY: Low sugar, low carb, high fiber, and high protein, these are a tasty on-the-go protein source. I love keeping one of these in a diaper bag or purse, never having to worry about them melting or squished.
2. Tom’s Wild Lavender Deodorant
WHAT: Aluminum-free, natural deodorant
WHERE: Deodorant aisle
WHY: Aluminum-based deodorants and antiperspirants are linked to loads of not so wonderful diseases. As a Texan, I’m not one for kicking deodorant out the window, so I like having one that is a little cleaner.
3. Cotton Candy Grapes
WHAT: Sweet, crunchy, uniquely flavored green grapes
WHERE: Produce section near peaches, nectarines, and plums
WHY: While they don’t taste exactly like cotton candy (something I actually hate), they have a fabulous flavor that is unlike any other grape I’ve ever tried. In addition to that, they’re UNBELIEVABLE frozen.
4. Planters Raw Mixed Nuts
WHAT: Unroasted, unsalted pecans, almonds, cashews, and walnuts
WHERE: Nuts and jerky aisle
WHY: Most nuts in the grocery store are roasted in inflammatory oils like canola. If you like roasted nuts, buy these and DIY. These are also my favorite base for my energy bites.
5. Organic Cherries
WHAT: Pacific Northwest cherries
WHERE: Refrigerated berry section
WHY: As another member of the Dirty Dozen (the most heavily sprayed produce items), I almost always go organic when it comes to cherries. Slightly tart, slightly sweet, and super juicy, I love these as an addition to sweet and savory recipes.
Healthy Happy Texan
