Well hello there, Wednesday! Already here so soon?
For my fellow Texans out there, we’re enjoying (or loathing) some super springtime weather here. As a 35 week pregnant lady, I’d rather the thermostat be turned down a scoach over here. Whatever happened to that snow day I so kindly requested a few weeks back?
Oh well, no worth complaining or fussing over. Life’s too short.
Something life is NOT too short for is your health. From making the daily commitment to take 20-30 minutes for yourself at the gym to saying no to that high fructose corn syrup-loaded soda in the afternoon, it’s the accumulations of these little choices in our daily lives that build our health.
And why yes, Wal-Mart can certainly assist you (or assault you if you’re not careful) in that journey. I’ve got a few new things to share with y’all. As always, if you toss any of these things or past items into your buddy this week or weekend, PLEASE snap a pic and tag me on Facebook or Instagram. It makes my day!
On this springilicous Wednesday, I hope you know that I’m here for you, screaming in the stands as your run your own physical, spiritual, and emotional races. Like we discussed Monday, you are not alone in this race, and we’ve got the most awesome coach and victory party at our finish line. Stay victorious, and I’ll see y’all tomorrow with some more Valentine’s themed meals!
1. ECOS Laundry Detergent
WHAT: Cleaner laundry detergent
WHERE: Bottom shelf in the detergent aisle
WHY: Cleaner ingredients=better for the environment and for us. At about the same price as conventional products, I'm down for a little less chemicals in my laundry.
2. Garden of Eatin' Blue Corn Chips
WHAT: Organic Blue Corn Chips
WHERE: Chip aisle near other healthier chips
WHY: As someone who is sensitivish to corn, I find sticking with organic chips allows me to enjoy more than 3 chips without being doubled over in stomach pain half an hour later. No funky preservatives. Just corn, oil, and salt...and unicorn tears.
3. Braswell's Fig Preserves
AWHAT: Fig preserves
WHERE: Nut butter and jelly section
WHY: WHY NOT?! Loaded with HUNKS of figs, this preserve will kick up any cheese plate to a whole new level. Do I sometimes eat it with a spoon? Perhaps...maybe once...
4. Chosen Foods Avocado Oil
WHAT: Cold-pressed (so more nutrients) avocado oil
WHERE: Near coconut oil
WHY: With a similar smoking point to coconut oil, this is a safer oil to cook/roast with than olive and vegetable oils. Its mild flavor make it versatile to meet a variety of cooking uses, plus it's packed with healthy fats our bodies crave.
WHAT: 7 stems of tulips in an assortment of colors
WHERE: Flower kiosk between produce and the bakery
WHY: At only $4.87 a bunch, you can buy yourself some flowers for Valentine's Day and not feel guilty, shameful, or pathetic. OR, you can buy someone special some flowers for Valentine's Day without breaking the bank. Plus, they're just so darn happy.
That's all the Wal-Marting for this week! See y'all tomorrow with another Valentine's recipe you could whip up for your someone special!
