After a few weeks off for Thanksgiving and to set y'all up with some gift guides, I've now returned to my normal routine of weekly Wal-Marting. And boy, to they have it all! From Christmas trees to my go-to Pinot Noir for entertaining to healthy gift ideas, Wal-Mart's got your Christmas needs covered!
And just a fair warning, I'll be traveling again next weekend (Knox Vegas, I'm coming back for you once again!) and won't be Wal-Marting again this year. Don't worry, though. I'll be visiting other grocery stores and sharing some fun and festive finds from those, too. Wal-Mart is not the end all, be all of my grocery stores. And to give you that impression would be dishonest and deceitful.
But for today, I continue to be a champion of Wal-Mart and try to emphasize to y'all that healthy grocery shopping doesn't have to occur at fancy pants Whole Foods or Natural Grocers or Central Market (though those are playgrounds for me to visit once in a while).
Without further ado, I give you my Wal-Mart rinds for the week!
1. Mark West Pinot Noir
WHAT: Palatte- pleasing Pinot Noir
WHERE: Wine aisle with other Pinot Noirs in the mid-shelf region
WHY: PRICE! At $7.98 a bottle, that price is about as low as I've ever seen for this everyday Pinot. And again, it's certainly not the fanciest Pinot around but it's a nice mid-level bottle to have at a party.
2. Boom Chicka Pop Holidrizzle Flavors
WHAT: Healthier popcorn treat
WHERE: End of chip aisle near healthier chips
WHY: In flavors like sugar cookie, peppermint white chocolate, and dark chocolatey sea salt, these kettle corn varieties would make a delightful stocking stuffer. Though heads up, there's a little soy in the drizzle-coating, so if you are sensitive to soy you may want to sit this one out.
3. Pure Maple Syrup
WHAT: Grade-A, amber syrup
WHERE: Mine was at an endcap near the baking aisle
WHY: No high-fructose corn syrup here, which is in many of those other 'pancake syrups' out there. I love this as a sweetener for holiday baking or drizzled over brussel sprouts
4. Fisher Walnuts
WHAT: 2 pounds of walnut halves and pieces
WHERE: Baking aisle with other nuts
WHY: PRICE! At around $4 a pound, this is a steal! Perfect for Christmas baking, snacking, and all-around, omega-rich merriment!
5. Potted Paperwhites
WHAT: Ready-to-go paperwhite bulbs
WHERE: Produce aisle near refrigerated berries
WHY: Price and aroma. For $3.33, you've got a quick yet thoughtful gift that would work for nearly anyone on your list! Or, if you're like me, you buy a few for yourself. Plus, these blooms smell so light and fresh.
That's all for this week gang! As always, if any of these items hop in your cart this week or weekend, snap a pic and tag me on instagram or Facebook! Either sure would make my day merry and bright! Keep rockin' with your bad selves, and I'll catcha tomorrow!
