The air is balmy. The pumpkins are rotting. The summer blooms are thriving.
You know what that means; it's November in Texas!
As I've been slowly rotating out my summer clothes and not-so-pregnancy-friendly clothes, I've been pulling out sweaters, boots, scarves, and other cool weather ware that are now pathetically hanging in my closet, desperate to be worn.
Alas, when it's 87 degrees, this pregnant lady isn't going to sweat it up in her vest and boots.
Instead of getting too bent out of shape about our sweaty start to November, I'm just letting some of my favorite early fall dresses and sleeveless tops have another go before being retired for the season. If you can't beat em', join em'!
What does all of this have to do with Wal-Mart, you may be asking?
Nothing. But y'all know how much I love fall and hate heat; therefore this current weather situation is disappointing, to say the least.
What's NOT disappointing are the goodies I've gathered from Wal-Mart this week!
Here's what made its way into my cart this weekend, and hopefully will hop into yours, too!
1. Yes to Grapefruit Daily Scrub
WHAT: More natural facial scrub
WHERE: With a random assortment of other new products across from bubble baths; I'd assume it will eventually be added to the skin care aisle
WHY: More natural and some organic ingredients like lemon balm, grapefruit peel, and sunflower seed oil.
2. Madhava Organic Raw Honey
WHAT: 100% raw, unfiltered honey
WHERE: Near jellies and jams
WHY: Antioxidant-rich, allergen-fighting, sleep promoter, and diabetes/blood sugar regulation
3. Superior Farms Lamb Shoulder Chops
WHAT: Lamb shoulder chops
WHERE: With other lamb products near the beef
WHY: As one of my favorite cuts of lamb, this beauty is cheaper than regular lamb chops (though needs to be braised to make tender) with the benefits of the omega-3s, protein, and nutrients like magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus.
4. Bird's Eye Steamfresh Riced Cauliflower
WHAT: Roasted garlic cauliflower rice
WHERE: Frozen vegetable aisle
WHY: Ricing cauliflower isn't hard but can be messy; someone has already done the work for you so you can have a low carb, high-fiber side dish in minutes!
5. Montchevre Cranberry Cinnamon Goat Cheese
WHAT: Autumnally-flavored goat cheese
WHERE: Specialty cheeses near deli
WHY: A crumbling of this on a pear salad or apple salad would be an autumn salad game changer...I'm feeling inspired...stay tuned...
That's all for this week, homies!
As always, be well, keep moving, and make joyful choices today. And if you swing by Wal-Mart and pick up some of these yummies, snap a pic and tag me on Facebook or Instagram to totally make me day!!! See y'all tomorrow!
