Hey hey party people!
How's your weekend going so far? Did you watch the opening ceremonies last night? Whatja think? Personally, I loved the Cirqu de Sol-like choreography, the Maypole of light that was the Amazon rainforest, and the fireworks. During the four hours, I was quickly reminded that Brazil's national language is Portuguese, not Spanish. I wasn't crazy about Team U.S.A.'s outfit, either. I thought they looked like gondola drivers...maybe next time Ralph...
Anywho, I've got my weekly workouts to share with y'all. I've had an icky summer cold/throat thing that pushed me to take an extra day off this week. Sometimes, you've gotta listen to your body and rest when it asks you to. As I've progressed in my health journey, I've learned how crucial it is to do this. Can I get an amen?
Whatever you're up to, remember to take care of yourself and make time for your health. You deserve it, after all.
Sunday- rest day
Monday- summer cold got the best of me, napping replaced the workout, more rest
Tuesday- Danced and sweated my face off in Zumba
Wednesday- A lil bit of Everything Workout
Jogged to the y, then 7 rounds:
15 wall balls,
15 bar rows,
15 plank shoulder taps,
15 decline push-ups,
15 back extension,
15 good mornings
Thursday- Taught Zumba, more sweat
Friday- Fifthy Fifties-
Jogged to the Y then 50 air squats, 50 American KB swings, 50 sit-ups, 50 walking lunges weighted, 50 plate thrusters, 50 lateral plate dips, 50 DB snatches, 50 step-ups, 50 mac raises, 50 Russian twists.
5X5 back squat, 5 pull-ups between sets
front squats (I'll increase the weight as the reps decrease...probably starting with the bar and gradually adding to 65 lb), box jumps, clean and jerks, wall balls
That's all day, y'all. Remember to keep moving in a way that brings you joy, and be well!
