Top of the morning, y’all! How ya doin?
Hopefully you’re savoring your last few bits of summer break, or, if you’re a parent, you are counting down the minutes until summer break is over.
Either way, I hope you’re not melting out there. August is just so stinkin’ hot. The only GOOD thing about August is that it brings about the arrival of 1- football season AND 2- pumpkin items in the grocery stores.
Not when it comes to pumpkin.
I’ve remained strong thus far, but I don’t know how much longer I can hold out friends.
In other news, life has tried to throw me a few curveballs when it came to my fitness this past week, but I didn’t let a few hiccups get in the way!
First of all, we went up and back to Dallas TWICE in a span of 4 days. And instead of letting that ruin my routine, I embraced it. I dropped McNugget off with a dear friend (HEY DINA!!!!) the first time around to hit up a BodyPump class at the Park Cities YMCA, and I just brought him with me to the Omni’s fitness room the second time around.
Then, one day this week, I showed up at my local YMCA and the nursery had closed early. Did I just throw my hands up and go home? NO WAY! I just brought my little nugget into the weight room with me and enjoyed some baby kisses in between reps.
With all this said, I’m just further reminding y’all that you can’t let life’s little hiccups to stand in the way of you and your health goals.
Be dedicated. Be flexible. Be creative.
That’s how you start seeing the results you’re after.
So, after all of that, here’s our workouts from this past week- some done at home, some in a hotel, and some in the gym. All helped me keep my health and fitness goals on track.
