Oh Saturday, you beautifully glorious day! So filled with possibilities, to-do lists that will be completed yet entertained to the fullest.
What are you crazy kiddos up to this weekend? Recovering from your first week back at work? Or maybe you’re one of those that are still enjoying a little Christmas vacation. Whatever you are doing, I hope that you are staying warm and safe, especially if you’ve been hit with a few inches of snow.
Here in North Central Texas, we had about 17 flurries fall from the sky yesterday afternoon, though it is COLD here…with the wind chill it feels like 7 degrees. And you know what, I absolutely love it! Would I prefer some white stuff accompanying our arctic blast? Sure, but I’ll take the bitter cold, too.
With most of us on the rather frigid side today, sounds like a perfect day to head into the gym to get that blood pumping and sweat working!
Here’s what your favorite Healthy Happy Preggo lady has been up to this week…with TWO delightful trips to Dallas for doctor’s appointments (one for my diabetes testing and one for my regular 30 week check-up), I earned two days off this week. Check out what else we’ve been up to in the gym!
Sunday: 25s in Under 25
Complete 25 reps of each exercise before moving on to the next. For a cardio boost, I did 50 jump ropes in between each set. You could do 25 double-unders to keep with the theme, too.
Mac raises, single arm dumbbell snatch right arm, football press (arms in field goal position, bring them forward in front of your face, and press back into field goal position keeping arms at 90 degrees the whole time), single arm dumbbell snatch left arm, kettle bell high-pull, overhead kettle bell swings, bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, push press, skull crushers
Monday: 4 mile walk with my interior decorator/travel companion/bestie (aka mom)
Tuesday: Zumba boogie time with my rockin’ ladies at Shall We Dance Studio
Wednesday: Double Chipper (no, there are no chocolate chips involved here)
50 deadlifts (65)
40 step-ups (each side)
30 bar rows (55)
20 front squats (55)
50 sit ups (I did them on the ball since getting off and on the ground involves some awkward rolling around)
40 push-ups (I did them inclined on a bench…too much gravity=hip/abdominal pressure)
30 weighted lunges (55) on each side
20 wall balls (15)
10 plate thrusters (25)
Thursday: Yet another doctor’s appointment, luckily no blood testing this time, cardio=stocking up on healthy produce, meat, and pantry staples at Sprouts in Dallas
Friday: Arctic Upper Body Blast
5 bar bicep curls (45)
10 clean and press (45)
20 bar rows (45)
30 push-ups (on the bench)
40 plate swings (25)
50 plank should taps (on the bench..again, gravity=ouchy pressure)
Saturday: Booty Work!
5X5 back squats (95-115 on smith machine)
5 rounds: 20 dumbell squats, 20 bulgarian split squats (aka back leg on a bench), 20 plie squats, 20 split squats, 20 squats+donkey kick
