Howdy y'all, and HAPPY WEEKEND to ya!
This week had me feeling like
Getting back in the teacher groove isn't an easy adjustment. My mind and body are going 12,000 miles a minute from about 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While I didn't always want to head into the gym after wrangling 73 eight-year-olds all day, I know how much better I feel after I get my blood pumping.
I know I've talked to y'all about how counterintuitive it seems to go workout when you're exhausted, but it gives me an energy boost every time I do. Even though I live about a mile away from my YMCA, I keep my gym bag in my car and go straight there to minimize the temptation to conk out on the couch after work.
I've found when I finally stop moving and really sit down, I realize how utterly wiped I am. I try not to sit too much at work. Again, doesn't seem to make sense, but I feel more tired at the end of the day if I'm sitting instead of moving around on my feet.
With all of that said, some of my workouts were on the shorter end this week. While I love to push myself, I also listen to my body. If it says it doesn't want to lift heavy, I'm not going to.
Here are this week's workouts. I also had an extra rest day this week, which my body mega appreciated. Remember whatever you do to stay fit, listen to your body and do something that brings you joy.
