Good morning, you lovely humans!
How’s it goin? What are ya up to? Hitting up the Wal-Mart? Getting a jog in around your hood? Going to see the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie with your fam (you should if you’re into Sci-Fi/Superhero flicks like me. Plus, tiny Gru reminds me so much of my newborn. He’s just adorbs.)?
Whatever you are up to, hopefully you can make some time for your health, especially all you mommas out there!
Whether you are celebrating tomorrow on Mother’s Day or doing something tonight instead, we have the hardest job on the planet. Yeah, I said it, and I don’t think anyone would argue against such a bold statement.
To all the mommas out there, both new to the game and veterans like my own (love you CamCam!), I wish y’all a healthy, happy Mother’s Day!
Treat yourself to something that will bring you joy- a massage, a mimosa, a massage while enjoying a mimosa…TREAT. YO. SELF.
With that said, once day I treat myself daily is by hitting the gym, taking a walk, or throwing together a workout right in my living room/porch/garage. It’s a simple way to destress, reenergize, and strengthen myself so I can be an even better, healthier, happier mother to my sweet nugget.
Here’s what we have been up to this week. Remember, I’m 7 weeks postpardum. Not a lot of impact going on here yet. Why? It just isn’t feeling right yet. My pelvic floor still has some strengthening to do, if you catch my drift. When it comes to your workouts, keep that same thought in mind. If it doesn’t feel right to you, if it doesn’t bring you joy, if it doesn’t make you feel rewarded or better afterwards, don’t do it. Life’s too short!
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend, and I’ll see your sunshining faces very soon!
