Way to go, gang! You’ve made it to Thursday, which is the day before Friday, thus your weekend!
So, like I’ve been doing the past few weeks, it’s time to TREAT YO SELF!
This is the season of a little extra indulgence, after all.
And I’ve got a recipe for y’all today that is rich and decadent and luxurious, embodying all of the flavors of my favorite Christmas Starbucks sip- the iconic Peppermint Mocha.
But unlike my go-to seasonal Starbucks order (which I get with coconut milk to give it a slightly more paleo spin), this treat is one that’s actually healthy. And it requires 0 cooking or baking.
EASY healthy holidays dessert?
Come check it out!
When it comes to this time of year, a few flavors combos seems to stand out: cranberry+orange, cinnamon+ginger, chocolate+mint.
And like I previously divulged, I’m a particular sucker for that last combo, especially when it comes to Starbucks.
I know, I know. It’s not in any way, shape, or form healthy. But I only get 1-2 a year, so I don’t sweat the extra sugar and calories and caffeine.
Y’all, we all gotta live a little. Amen?
Anyways, when the sugar rush subsides from that peppermint mocha, I usually have a problem; I want MORE peppermint mocha.
And that’s how this recipe was born!
That and I wanted to give y’all a simple yet decadent dessert to serve this Christmas season that is worthy of the dessert buffet.
And you know what the secret to it is?
You’d never know it…it’s AVOCADO!
Yup, those buttery, rich, creamy allstars lend all of those delicious qualities to this mousse.
No cream. No butter. No oils.
How crazy is that?
And y’all, this recipe rocks because it requires NO cooking.
How easy peasy paleo is this, y’all?
How cute would it be to set up a mousse bar with a big ol’ bowl of this peppermint mocha mousse and lots of little fixins all around that people could just help themselves to…pretty darn cute…
If you need this to be 100% Whole 30, you can’t use any extracts or honey. Make a mint simple syrup instead boiling a handful of fresh mint leaves in about a cup of water with half a cup of chopped dates…whiz those in the blender with your avocados for a natural, Whole 30-friendly alternative!
Alrighty amigos, time to get my peppermint mocha mousse on….why yes, it makes for a fantastic breakfast, too!
