It’s time once again for another addition of the Healthy Happy Texan’s His and Hers : Christmas Gift Edition!
While I’ve spent the past few days helping narrow down gifts for the food and fitness obsessed, to my shock you may have friends and family on your list that do not fit into either of those categories…I can understand people not loving to sweat and push their bodies to new limits, but who doesn’t love FOOD?! Come on, now…
Let’s be real, y’all, guys can be tough to shop for. Whether you’ve got brothers or a new boyfriend or a father-in-law, they can be tricky to find something that is thoughtful yet meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve found it’s better to air on the side of practicality with guys…yet sometimes buying yet another tie or pocketknife can be boring.
I’ve got a round-up of gifts Mister Healthy Happy Texan would be more than delighted to find under our tree this year. In addition, I added a few interesting finds to my list that I haven’t broken down and purchased for myself but I’d be more than delighted to unwrap on Christmas morning.
His Christmas Gift Guide
1. Mouth's Monthly Bourbon Club
If you've got a Tennessean or Texan on your list, this would be a SLAM DUNK of a gift to order. With options ranging from every three months to every month, the man on your list would get occasional deliveries of new types of bourbon straight to their doorstep. As the wife of a bourbon lover and daughter of a bourbon lover, I can think of two special men in my life that would flip over this boozy gift. Prices range from $78 a month to $58 a month. If you don't want to commit to that much, they also have plenty of bourbon-related gifts at lesser price points. Here's the link to find that something special for the bourbon aficionado in your life!
2. Mizzen + Main Dress Shirts
As the wife of someone who would rather wear tank tops and athletic shorts year round, these dress shirts are a win-win for our marriage. For Mister HHT, these professional shirts are moistuer-wicking, stretchy, and breathable, like wearing a collared UnderArmour shirt. For me, I love that they are wrinkle-resistant, so no ironing for me! While they are an investment at $125 a piece, they are so worth it! Check em out here!
3. Juniper Ridge Face Oil
With beard-growing as one of his hobbies, my husband (and my face!) appreciate calming those whiskers with an occasional beard oil treatment. Made with a variety of desert plants and no added chemicals or synthetic fragrances, this oil will condition and soften your man's wiry whiskers. At $35 a bottle, this ruggedly delightful oil is a victory for anyone in your bearded man's life. Click on the picture to go to the Amazon link.
4. Tamarac Slippers
Yes, men can have slippers, too. I've been buying these plushy-lined, moccasin-style slippers for my husband since our relationship's inception back in good ol' 2007. These are only $25 and come in a variety of neutral shades, so you could go ahead and get two- one for now and one for later. Click on the pic for the link.
5. Carry-on Cocktail Kit
Who hasn't had one of those days at an airport when all you want is a cocktail or three? Been there, done that. Since we aren't always traveling with our dear man friends, you can go ahead and help get him started with this flight-friendly cocktail kit. For only $14.95, you can help a buddy on his way to travel bliss since the start of two old fashioned. Click on the picture for the link!
Her Christmas Gift Guide
1. Thymes Frasier Fir Candle
As someone who LOVES the smell of evergreen trees and therefore Christmas trees, I've smelled a lot of Christmas tree candles in my lifetime, and most smell more like cheap air fresheners than an actual tree. While a little pricey at $29 a piece, this is, by far, the best Christmas tree candle I've come across. Crisp, clean, and fresh, this is perfect for friends with artificial tree or want to boost their own tree's aroma. The image will link you to Amazon.
2. J.R. Watkins Coconut Sugar Scrub
I've always been a fan of scrubs. From coffee to salt to sugar, I enjoy them all. I've always had some pretty gnarly feet thanks to years of dancing and running, so scrubs are perfect for my own personal spa time (since I'm often a bit self-conscious about getting a pedicure and having a stranger touch my feet). At under $20 a bottle, that's cheaper than most pedicures. Plus, the smell is delightful yet not overly sweet. Click on the picture for the link.
3. Personalized Return Address Stamp
Available from one of my favorite online gift stores, etsy, this is the perfect gift for anyone settling into a new home or just in need of a classy southern gift. For only $9, you may as well order one for yourself. These sure would make for cute Christmas card envelopes, too. Here's the etsy link.
4. Personalized Stationary
From a single initial to the full-fledged monogram, this etsy store provides handmade stationary in 35 color choices. At $15/dozen, these are a wonderful gift for that person that seems to already have everything. Head over here for the etsy link.
5. Kate Spade Weekly Planner
I've been buying myself this $30 planner for two years in a row now. This planner is sturdy and won't start falling apart after a few trips in a purse, backpack, tote, or abyss that is the teacher bag. As someone who loves organization and planning, this will not disappoint any of your friends who like having their ducks in a row. Click on the image to get its link.
That's all for this gift guide, my friends. Hopefully, after three editions of these, you've got an idea or two you can use. Leave me a comment below if you saw anything in this guide or another this week that you want to add to your own Christmas list. Keep it festive, y'all, and I'll cya tomorrow with a new festive recipe!
