Good morning, you radiant beam of sunlight!
And way to go to you! You’ve made it to Thursday, which is ONE day away from Friday and thus the weekend.
On top of all that, it’s one day away from December.
How? When? Where did November go?!?!
I’m not entirely sure, but that’s what happens when you’re out of town for half a month.
Anywho, I can’t wait to share this super simple yet super decadent treat that would be a fabulous homemade Christmas gift, sweet goodie to munch on while wrapping Christmas presents, or alternative to the cookies and milk for Santa.
No matter how ya wanna use em, I assure you these homemade treats are just what your Christmas season is missing!
I mean, come on….dark chocolate+booze+caramel+pecans. Who wouldn’t want some of that in their stocking?
Ever since I got my nutrition act together in college, I’ve enjoyed pretty much the same bedtime treat nearly every night of my life: herbal tea+dried fruit+dark chocolate almonds.
Yup, nearly every night for the past 8 years of my life I savor the same little sweet treat.
Sure, the type of tea and dried fruit and even dark chocolate-covered nut varies here and there, but it’s the perfect sweet tooth satisfaction I want and need before hitting the hay every night.
And usually, when it comes to my dark chocolate almonds or cashews, I hit up the bulk bins of Sprouts or Central Market and load up there.
But if you’ve ever taken a gander at those ingredients, there’s a lot of stuff in there that I’m not too wild about, mainly soy. Sometimes they even have several types of sugar and sketchy vegetable oils.
So this Christmas season, I decided to take on one of my favorite treats as a simple but delicious gift to hand out to neighbors, friends, and others in my life who need that little extra somethin somethin from my family.
And y’all, no need to have attended pastry school to make these. You will need:
You just melt caramel. Melt chocolate. Pour them both over nuts. Stir stir stir. Cool and nom nom.
Like I said, I plan on bagging these sweet and savory beauties up and passing them out as a little homemade goodie this Christmas season.
However, you’re welcome to just make a batch for yourself and your family to nosh on this weekend!
These would also be dandy to whip out and share in a few months for homemade Valentine’s Day treats…and yes, I’m already thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day and I don’t even have my Christmas tree up yet! Where's my head at?!?!
Alright, it’s time I get my Christmas act together. Y’all have a fabulous day and I’ll see y’all tomorrow!
