Good morning, y'all! I love Saturday mornings- sipping coffee, watching The Pioneer Woman, going to the Farmer's Market...good stuff.
I've got my week's worth of workouts to share with you lovely people this morning. Remember, if there's something you're unsure about, just Google it. Being a do-it-yourself Crossfitter, I do this all the time!
No matter what your workouts look like, just remember that everyday you chose to move is a day you have bettered your health and longevity! Just keep movin!
I have no clue where this week has gone to. From traveling to Louisiana and back last weekend to zipping up to Dallas Monday and being up to my eyeballs in literacy research (hooray for my second to last Master’s course!!!), it has zoomed by. Hopefully, you have loads of magic and mystery ahead of you this weekend. I have been gone for the past 3 weekends, so I’m looking forward to some projects around the house while putting off my research project.
Here’s a few goodies that have been adding that little somethin’ somethin’ to my week. Enjoy!
I love Paleo. I love how it makes me feel, look, and perform on a daily basis. I’ve already shared with you all (see Tuesday’s post) how it has helped me along in my health journey and how easy it is to carry out on a daily basis.
BUT I'm not want to force anyone to eat how I eat. I’m not a dogmatic crazed lunatic. I am very well aware that most people don’t want to fist bump a stranger over beets, spaghetti squash, and brussels sprouts. My very own family back in Tennessee is open-minded to my food point of view, but they definitely raise their eyebrows over my green smoothies and kitchen sink salads.
Hey hey hey you marvelous and fearfully made human, you. I hope you are having a terrific week and day so far. Don’t know about you, but I really appreciate the slight break in the heat we’re having here in TX (so it’s 96 instead of 106) with a few daily showers. Do I still have to water my plants? Uh huh. But it seems to mentally comfort me that it is slightly raining every afternoon.
If you are like me, you are already thinking about the weekend, meal-planning for next week, and grocery shopping. It slightly pains me to see all of the back-to-school signage out and about. Before you judge me as being a horrible teacher, I need to emphasize the key word here- slightly. It’s a mixed bag of emotions for teachers as summer comes to an end. I have compromised with myself that the only way I get Tennessee football (GO VOLS) and cooler temperatures is if school starts. Alrighty, I can live with that.
The good news is that I’ve got 5 new healthy finds from Walmart that you can go investigate in the next few days. I know some of y’all be shopping Friday nights…I love knowing my readers are just as cool as me. Y’all rock!
The Paleo diet, that’s the super-restrictive, you-can’t-eat-anything diet.
The Caveman diet, where you eat only caveman food like raw meat.
I’ve heard it a bajillion times…sorry Michelle, those cupcakes aren’t paleo. Or, you can’t eat anything here, can you? Or, cavemen didn’t eat pizza, huh? Or, Paleo people are crazy fanatics. I don’t want to stop shaving my legs, let my personal hygiene go out the window, and wear a tin foil hat.
Today, my friends, I’m getting real with y’all about forgiveness. It’s not your Sunday school lesson of forgive others as Christ has forgiven us (which is still good stuff). I’m talking about how to forgive yourself, especially when it comes to making choices for your health- the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Healthy Happy Texan
